During her degree, she was also selected for a competitive international study opportunity at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
Nafia’s professional experience spans community pharmacy, pharmaceutical research and development, and pharmacy education. She completed part of her foundational pharmacist training within the pharmaceutical industry before going on to work in research and development, with a focus on the assessment of materials used in solid dosage forms. Her research background also includes a first-author publication in pharmaceutical sciences, involving work conducted at the Australian Synchrotron to investigate drug dissolution in lipid-based formulations.
Today, Nafia combines her work in community pharmacy with pharmacy education, helping prepare pharmacy graduates for the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) Qualifying Examinations. Her diverse experience across practice, research, industry, and education brings a broad perspective to her approach to pharmacy and patient care.
Outside of pharmacy, Nafia enjoys spending time with family, discovering great coffee, reading, painting, and staying active.
